Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Mixtapes by Mail (“we”, “us”). By using the site or ordering a card, you agree to them. If something here doesn't work for you, please email hello@mixtapesbymail.com before you order.

What we provide

You can make a digital mixtape for free: a web page with a note, a tracklist, 30-second song previews and links to find the songs in music apps. You can also pay to have a physical card with an NFC tag and QR code printed and mailed to an address you choose.

Your mixtape and your content

• You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to store, display and print it so that we can run the service you asked for.
• Mixtape pages are visible to anyone with the link. Don't include private information about other people, and don't use the service for anything unlawful, hateful, harassing or misleading.
• We may remove a mixtape that breaks these rules or that we're asked to remove for legal reasons.
• Your edit link is your key. Keep it safe: anyone who has it can change the mixtape, and we can't recover it for you.

The music

We don't host or sell music. Previews, artwork and song information come from third-party services and may change or disappear. “Spotify”, “Apple Music”, “YouTube Music” and other names belong to their owners, and we aren't affiliated with or endorsed by them. To hear full songs, the listener needs access to those services.

Ordering a card

• The price is shown at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe.
• We mail only to places we list at checkout. Please double-check the address you enter.
• We typically print and mail within a couple of days. Delivery usually takes about 3–7 business days in the US, but mail times are estimates, not promises.
• The card points to your live mixtape page, so any edits you make with your edit link show up even after the card is mailed. The printed cassette art and tracklist on the card itself won't change.
• If your card is lost, damaged or never arrives, email us and we'll reprint it or refund you. If you change your mind before we've printed the card, tell us and we'll refund you.

The fine print

• The service is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
• To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any problem is limited to the amount you paid us for the order involved, and we aren't liable for indirect or incidental losses.
• If you violate these terms, we may limit or end your access.
• These terms are governed by United States law and the law of the state where we operate.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use the site afterward means you accept the new terms.
